Basketball Recap: Geneva Comes Up Short

After flying high against Pymatuning Valley last Tuesday, Geneva came back down to earth. The Geneva Eagles fell to the Benedictine Bengals 48-43.

Benedictine's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Damone Darmond, who posted eight points and 15 rebounds. Those 15 boards gave Darmond a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Noah Whisler, who put up eight points and five rebounds.

Geneva's loss dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Benedictine, their victory bumped their record up to 10-12.

Coming up, Geneva will take on University School at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in University School's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 11 contests. As for Benedictine, they will square off against Bay at 7:00 p.m. on February 21st. Benedictine is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.9 points per game this season.
