Basketball Game Preview: Malone Tigers vs. Seminole County Indians

The Malone Tigers will take on the Seminole County Indians in a tournament on Friday. Malone is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.5 points per game this season.

While Malone didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Houston County 71-38. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 23 points or more this season.

Malone's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jackson Welch, who posted 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hoke Harkrider, who went 7 of 11 on his way to 20 points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Seminole County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 46-42 heartbreaker at the hands of Early County. The match marked the Indians' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Malone and bumps their season record up to 9-3. As for Seminole County, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.

Malone was dealt a bruising 68-32 defeat at the hands of Seminole County in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Thankfully for Malone, DJ Yarbrough (who went 7 of 14 on his way to 20 points along with five rebounds and three steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
