Recap: Conifer Lobos vs. Dakota Ridge Eagles

The Conifer Lobos's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 74-34 loss at the hands of Dakota Ridge. While losing is never fun, Conifer can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 242nd, while Dakota Ridge is ranked 52nd).

Conifer used a three-pronged attack on offense: Dylan Warner, Jordan Zitkus, and Luke Stone posted six points each. Ben Scheck held things down on the boards with six rebounds.

Ethan Berninger was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with four steals for Dakota Ridge. Berninger is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Esau, who scored 13 points along with three steals.

Conifer's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Dakota Ridge, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-4.

Conifer will head out on the road to square off against D'Evelyn at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully D'Evelyn focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Friday. As for Dakota Ridge, they will be playing at home against Green Mountain at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Green Mountain's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 11 games.
