Softball Recap: San Leandro Takes Down University Prep in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, San Leandro rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past the University Prep Panthers 4-3.

San Leandro is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-8 record this season. As for University Prep, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-12-2.

Looking ahead, San Leandro will be playing in front of their home fans against Aptos at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Pirates 3.7, the Mariners 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. University Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
