Softball Preview: Hackensack Comets vs. Teaneck Highwaymen        
        
		
            
 The Hackensack Comets will be playing at home against the Teaneck Highwaymen at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The timing is sure in Hackensack's favor as the  squad sits on four straight wins at home while Teaneck has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.
 Hackensack's pitching crew heads into the  matchup  hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed  on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Eastside as Hackensack made off with  a  15-0 victory. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest  win Hackensack has managed all season.
  Rihanna Hernandez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  didn't allow a single  earned run and  only two  hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Hernandez was also solid in the batter's box,  going 1-for-2 with two  RBI and a  double.
 In other batting news, Hackensack got a  massive  performance out of  Briana Darling, who  scored three  runs and  stole six bases while going 2-for-4. Darling is on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as she's  now  stolen  at least one in the last five games she's  played. Another player making a difference was  Gianna Bruno, who  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances.
 Meanwhile, Teaneck scored the most  runs they've had all season to find success  on Monday. They put the hurt on Tenafly with a sharp  19-3 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what Teaneck needed considering they were shutout in their previous   match.
 Hackensack has  been performing  well recently as they've  won five of their last six games,  which provided a nice bump to their 8-10 record  this season. As for Teaneck, their win  ended  a  six-game drought at home  dating back to last season and  bumped them up to 2-11.
 Hackensack came up short against Teaneck in their previous meeting  back in April of 2023, falling  14-11. Can Hackensack avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
