Basketball Recap: Guymon Takes a Loss

After flying high against Santa Fe South last Tuesday, Guymon came back down to earth. The Guymon Tigers came up short against the Carl Albert Titans on Friday, falling 61-38. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 212th, while the Titans are ranked 38th).

Guymon's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Carl Albert, the win (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 21-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Guymon will take on Elgin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Carl Albert, they will face off against Santa Fe South at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing isn't great for Santa Fe South: they have been struggling with ten straight losses at home, while Carl Albert has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road.
