Basketball Game Preview: York Golden Knights vs. Caledonia-Mumford Raiders

The York Golden Knights will venture away from home to square off against the Caledonia-Mumford Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Wednesday, everything came up roses for York against Perry as the team secured a 76-38 win. The Golden Knights have beaten the Yellowjackets the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Yellowjackets has come to flipping the script.

Meanwhile, Caledonia-Mumford entered their tilt with Warsaw on Wednesday with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. They blew past the Tigers 64-15. Given the Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 147th, while the Tigers are ranked 712th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Caledonia-Mumford pushed their record up to 14-3 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.9 points over those games. As for York, their record now sits at 12-4.

York couldn't quite finish off Caledonia-Mumford in their previous meeting back in January and fell 51-48. Can York avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
