After a string of eight wins, Gorman's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of the Ozona Lions by a score of 35-33. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Panthers came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 136th, while the Lions are ranked 369th).

Gorman's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 20-3. As for Ozona, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-6.
