Baseball Recap: East Moline United Victorious

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but East Moline United ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Morris Redskins 5-3.

East Moline United saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dominic Stottler, who went 3-for-4 with one double. Kellan Kennedy also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

East Moline United's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-11. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Morris, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 23-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Moline United will venture away from home to face off against Sycamore at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. As for Morris, they will head out to take on LaSalle-Peru at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
