Softball Game Preview: Clear Falls Knights vs. Dickinson Gators

The Clear Falls Knights will face off against the Dickinson Gators at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Dickinson took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Clear Falls, who comes in off a win.

Clear Falls took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over Clear Brook. The win was some much needed relief for the Knights as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

R Holsinger spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, P LaFrenz was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Dickinson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 17-1 to Clear Springs. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Gators have suffered since March 11th.

Dickinson saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bailey Barber, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Dickinson's loss dropped their record down to 7-21. As for Clear Falls, their victory bumped their record up to 7-16.

Clear Falls couldn't quite finish off Dickinson when the teams last played back in March and fell 6-4. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
