Volleyball Recap: Chugiak Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Chugiak and Colony squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Chugiak had to settle for second. They came up short against the Knights, falling 3-0. Mustangs fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Knights since Friday.

While Chugiak ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 21 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-22, 25-21.

Elise Kelley paced Chugiak's offense, picking up nine kills. Kelley got some help from Oliviya Rodriguez and her 26 assists. Finally, Riley Kauhola kept Chugiak's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Chugiak's defeat ended a five-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 33-16-1. As for Colony, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 36-18-2.

Coincidentally, Chugiak and Colony will both be playing Dimond the next time they take the court. The Knights will head out to face the Lynx on Saturday, while the Mustangs will play them later in the day, at 11:00 a.m.
