Volleyball Recap: Timpview Comes Up Short

Timpview lost against Spanish Fork back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Thunderbirds fell just short of the Dons by a score of 3-2. The Thunderbirds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Timpview started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-27, 25-21, 25-13, 15-13.

Spanish Fork was led to victory by Taryn Benson and Baylee Smith. Benson had eight digs and two aces, while Smith had eight digs. The dominant performance also gave Benson a new career-high in assists (seven). Noelle Reid also deserves some recognition as she had her first blocks of the season.

Timpview's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Spanish Fork, they pushed their record up to 16-5 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home.

Timpview didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Springville on the 25th. As for Spanish Fork, they have also already played their next match, a 3-2 defeat against Maple Mountain on the 25th.
