Basketball Recap: Aucilla Christian Comes Up Short

Aucilla Christian was the 61-41 winner over Branford when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Aucilla Christian Warriors had to suffer through a 71-32 loss at the hands of the Branford Buccaneers. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-18.

Mae McNeill and Georgia Lindsey certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. McNeill posted six points and 14 rebounds, while Lindsey dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Lindsey is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games.

Branford got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brianna Barrs out in front who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Cloey Criggall, who went 9 of 17 on her way to 22 points and five rebounds.

Aucilla Christian now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Branford, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Aucilla Christian will welcome Countryside Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Branford, they will host Lafayette at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
