Heard County extended the longest winning streak in AA Region 5 this week by beating Chattahoochee County, 40-14. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
Temple's Elijah McFarland and Trevor Shell have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. McFarland has thrown for 257 yards this season, while Shell, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 11 catches for 178 yards. Heard County's Duranta Dunson leads the league in rushing yards with 303.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when the Braves take on Manchester. Heard County's offense has racked up 90 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while the Blue Devils have allowed only 44 on the year.
