Baseball Game Preview: Monadnock Huskies vs. Conant Orioles

The Monadnock Huskies will square off against the Conant Orioles at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Conant will be up against a hot Monadnock team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. Everything went the Huskies' way against Winnisquam on Tuesday as they made off with a 15-2 victory.

Meanwhile, Conant faced Bishop Brady in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Orioles put the hurt on the Giants with a sharp 13-4 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Orioles, who have now won three games in a row.

Monadnock's win was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-3. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Conant, their win bumped their record up to 15-2.

Monadnock couldn't quite finish off Conant when the teams last played on May 7th and fell 2-0. Can the Huskies avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
