Baseball Recap: Harford Tech Cobras vs. Havre de Grace Warriors
After flying high against Havre de Grace last Monday, Harford Tech came back down to earth. The Cobras fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 7-6 on Tuesday. The Cobras were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Warriors earlier this season, when they won 10-1.
Carter Manara was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits.
At the plate, Sam Roney was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-2. Josh Hays was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
Harford Tech's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-6. As for Havre de Grace, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Harford Tech will venture away from home to take on Elkton at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Havre de Grace, they will head out to challenge John Carroll at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
