Basketball Recap: Ansonia Takes a Loss

Ansonia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They received a blow as they fell 57-42 to the Watertown Indians. The Chargers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Watertown's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Christopher O'Toole, who went 6 of 12 en route to 15 points. Another player making a difference was Dean LeMay, who posted ten points and seven rebounds.

Ansonia's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Watertown, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Ansonia will head out to face off against Northwestern Regional at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Watertown, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Crosby at 7:00 p.m. on January 28th.
