DeLand put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down the Appling County Pirates 46-30. That's more bragging rights for the Bulldogs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

DeLand got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Marceles Carey out in front who rushed for 153 yards and one touchdown on only 14 carries, and also picked up 83 receiving yards and one TD. Taihj Moore was in the mix too, providing the Bulldogs with three scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: DeLand was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 391 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 175 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

When it comes to explaining why Appling County lost, don't look at Jaiden Knight. Despite the final result, he rushed for 125 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries, and also caught one TD. Dareon Hood also helped out as he racked up 107 rushing yards.

DeLand's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Appling County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

DeLand and Appling County should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in their respective state rankings. The Bulldogs will take on Deltona at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (42 vs. 274). Meanwhile, Appling County (ranked 93rd) will meet Miller County (ranked 344th) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
