Basketball Recap: Clear Creek Takes a Loss

On Wednesday, the Clear Creek Golddiggers were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 38-37 to the Belleview Christian Bruins.

Despite the loss, Clear Creek still got an impressive performance from Zephyrus Schuessler, who posted 19 points and seven steals. That was a full 51.4% of Clear Creek's points, marking the third time in a row he's put up more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Weichel, who scored seven points.

Belleview Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Collin Polson, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Polson a new career-high in steals (five). Another player making a difference was Kentrell Beasley, who had ten points and seven boards.

Clear Creek's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Belleview Christian, the victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-5.

Clear Creek will head out to face off against Bishop Machebeuf at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Belleview Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 50-40 win against Dayspring Christian Academy on the 16th.
