Basketball Recap: Compass Academy Takes a Loss

Compass Academy has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 63-51 to the Coahoma Bulldogs on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 39-32 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2025.

When it comes to explaining why Compass Academy lost, don't look at Liam Gahr. Despite the final result, he went 7-for-9 to rack up 14 points in addition to eight boards and three blocks. Andrew Bowling was another key player, putting up ten points along with six rebounds and five assists.

Compass Academy's loss dropped their record down to 16-3. As for Coahoma, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-6.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Compass Academy is set to face off against their familiar foe Crane at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Coahoma will challenge rival Lamesa at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
