Baseball Recap: Oswego Picks Up 11th Straight Win on the Road

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Oswego). They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 14-12 win over the Neuqua Valley Wildcats on Saturday. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won three in a row.

Oswego's win was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Neuqua Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8-1 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oswego will face off against Plainfield North at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
