Basketball Recap: Verrado Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Sanaa Holliday and Gisele Wilkinson

While it was all tied up 11-11 at halftime, Verrado was not quite Paradise Valley's equal in the second half on Thursday. They took a hard 34-18 fall against the Paradise Valley Trojans. Having soared to a lofty 57 points in the game before, the Vipers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Verrado's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Gisele Wilkinson, who posted six points and five steals, and Sanaa Holliday, who had six points and three steals.

Paradise Valley had a senior duo take command as Olivia Kollie scored ten points and four steals and Kaitlyn Jimmy earned three points and three steals. Jimmy is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played.

Verrado's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Paradise Valley, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-8.

Verrado wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 35-22 win against North Canyon on the 17th. As for Paradise Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 53-20 loss against Kellis on the 15th.
