Baseball Recap: Minneola Comes Up Short

Minneola was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 17-1 to the Ellis Railroaders. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Railroaders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Minneola saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kit Dilley, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI. That hit was Dilley's first of the season.

Minneola's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Ellis, their victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Railroaders beat Minneola by a score of 20-0 later that day.
