Baseball Recap: Filer Beats Buhl for Their Fourth Straight Win

Filer proved they can win big last Saturday (they won by 11) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 victory over the Buhl Indians. The win was nothing new for the Wildcats as they're now sitting on four straight.

Brett Paxton was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Filer is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-5 otherwise. Paxton was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

Paxton wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Westley Billington, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases.

Filer's record now sits at 7-5. As for Buhl, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-3.

Looking ahead, Filer is taking a road trip to take on Gooding at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Buhl, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Homedale at 3:30 p.m.
