Elysian Fields proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by 11) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Jefferson Bulldogs 4-2. While the Yellowjackets didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-22), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Elysian Fields saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abby Hooten, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one run.

Elysian Fields' win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Jefferson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Elysian Fields didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-2 victory against New Boston on the 17th. As for Jefferson, they have also already played their next matchup, a 14-4 defeat against Pine Tree on the 17th.
