Softball Game Preview: North Marion Colts vs. Eastside Rams

North Marion is on a seven-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Eastside a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Wednesday. The North Marion Colts will look to defend their home field against the Eastside Rams at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

North Marion came up short against Interlachen on Tuesday, falling 18-3. That's two games in a row now that the Colts have lost by exactly 15 runs.

Lili Bedford made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. Ariana Turski was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Eastside fell victim to Dunnellon and their airtight pitching crew two weeks ago. They lost 15-0 to the Tigers.

Eastside's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5-1. As for North Marion, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. North Marion has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Eastside struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Everything went North Marion's way against Eastside in their previous matchup back in February, as North Marion made off with a 20-1 victory. Will North Marion repeat their success, or does Eastside has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
