Volleyball Recap: Tuesday's Defeat Ends Ellsworth's Winning Streak

After a string of four wins, Ellsworth's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Beloit Trojans by a score of 2-1. The Bearcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Trojans earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

Ellsworth came incredibly close to winning: the sets they lost were decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-22, 25-22.

Beloit found their leader in sophomore Colbi Stroede, who had 21 assists.

Ellsworth's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 10-1 and their overall record down to 24-7. As for Beloit, they moved to 23-8 with that victory, which also ended their three-match losing streak.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Ellsworth is set to square off against their familiar foe Southeast of Saline at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Beloit will challenge rival Lyons at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
