Volleyball Recap: Buckeye Local Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Brooke Kovalski and Jenna Delvecchio

Buckeye Local came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the West Muskingum Tornadoes, falling 3-0.

While Buckeye Local ultimately came up short, they really made West Muskingum work, particularly in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 25-20, 25-22.

Buckeye Local's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jenna DelVecchio, who had nine kills and four aces, and Brooke Kovalski, who had eight kills, two aces, and one block. DelVecchio has been hot, having posted six or more kills the last eight times she's played.

Buckeye Local has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season. As for West Muskingum, the victory snapped their losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 8-15 record.

Buckeye Local does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for West Muskingum, they will take on Union Local at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
