Volleyball Recap: Normandy Triumphs

Normandy's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They came out on top against the Buckeye Bucks by a score of 3-1. This was a revenge game for the Invaders: when they faced off against the Bucks back in September, they had to take a 3-0 loss.

Normandy was actually outscored in aggregate across those four sets (91-88), but they still managed to win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 12-25, 25-23, 26-24.

Normandy found their leader in sophomore Maddie Kirk, who had six digs and five aces. Those five aces set a new season-high mark for Kirk.

Normandy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in five consecutive contests.

Normandy's record now sits at 8-14. As for Buckeye, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.

Normandy will welcome John Hay at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Buckeye does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
