Baseball Game Preview: Lakes Eagles vs. Crystal Lake South Gators

The Lakes Eagles will take on the Crystal Lake South Gators at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Lakes' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Crystal Lake South's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Friday, Lakes didn't have quite enough to beat Antioch and fell 4-3.

Meanwhile, Crystal Lake South made easy work of Cary-Grove on Friday and carried off an 11-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Gators.

Crystal Lake South's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-10. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Lakes, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-7.

Lakes couldn't quite get it done against Crystal Lake South in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 7-2. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
