Recap: Springfield Yellow Jackets vs. Gallatin Green Wave
The Springfield Yellow Jackets were the 31-26 winner over the Gallatin Green Wave when they last played one another back in August of 2018, but their luck changed this time around. Springfield took a 17-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of Gallatin on Friday.
When it comes to explaining why Springfield lost, one person who can't be blamed is Parker Betts. Despite the final result, he gained 132 total yards and a touchdown.
Gallatin's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jackson Stroup led the charge by throwing for 228 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Ladanian Mcmurry, who picked up 118 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Springfield's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Gallatin, their win was their sixth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Springfield will take on Beech at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Beech's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last four contests. As for Gallatin, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Lebanon at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (Lebanon is ranked 81st, while Gallatin is ranked 64th).
