Baseball Recap: Versailles' Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Versailles won the last time they faced Fort Recovery and things went their way on Thursday too. The Tigers walked away with a 9-4 win over the Indians. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Sam Deland was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Watren, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Versailles pushed their record up to 12-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Fort Recovery, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5.

Versailles didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 14-4 victory against West Liberty-Salem on the 2nd. As for Fort Recovery, they will host Parkway at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
