Basketball Preview: Old Suwanee Christian Conquerors vs. Peoples Baptist Academy Knights
Old Suwanee Christian is 8-2 against the Knights since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Old Suwanee Christian Conquerors will face off against the Peoples Baptist Academy Knights at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Old Suwanee Christian's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last nine matches.
Old Suwanee Christian pushed their score all the way to 68 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 82-68 bruising from Trinity Prep.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Amari Chatman, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jon Rojas, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Peoples Baptist Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Appling Christian Academy 63-36 at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Peoples Baptist Academy has managed all season.
Old Suwanee Christian's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-8. As for Peoples Baptist Academy, their victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-10.
Everything came up roses for Old Suwanee Christian against the Knights in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 80-29 win. With Old Suwanee Christian ahead 50-21 at the half, the game was all but over already.
