Soccer Game Preview: Greater Nanticoke Area vs. Western Wayne

The Greater Nanticoke Area Trojans will venture away from home to square off against the Western Wayne Wildcats at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams each escaped with close wins against their previous opponents.

Greater Nanticoke Area was handed a five-goal defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Holy Redeemer, sneaking past 3-2. The victory was some much needed relief for Greater Nanticoke Area as it spelled an end to their three-match losing streak.

Meanwhile, Western Wayne's game on Thursday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They had just enough and edged out Old Forge 5-4. The win continues a trend for Western Wayne in their matchups with Old Forge: they've now won three in a row.

Greater Nanticoke Area's record is now 5-7. As for Western Wayne, their record now sits at 9-2.

Greater Nanticoke Area beat Western Wayne 3-1 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
