Baseball Recap: Lejeune Comes Up Short

Lejeune was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 16-1 to the Pamlico County Hurricanes. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hurricanes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-3 last Thursday.

Lejeune saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grady Mahaffey, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Lejeune's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Pamlico County, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-6 record this season.

Lejeune didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 14-1 defeat against East Carteret on the 25th. As for Pamlico County, they have also already played their next contest, a 10-0 victory against Northside - Pinetown on the 25th.
