Softball Game Preview: Grace Christian Crusaders vs. North Raleigh Christian Academy Knights

The Grace Christian Crusaders are taking a road trip to take on the North Raleigh Christian Academy Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Grace Christian is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.

Grace Christian took a seven-run loss the last time they faced off against Wayne Christian, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Crusaders skirted past the Eagles 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Crusaders have posted since April 25, 2024.

The team relied heavily on Abby Carville, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Gunter, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Meanwhile, North Raleigh Christian Academy came up short against GRACE Christian on Tuesday, falling 15-4.

Grace Christian pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for North Raleigh Christian Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.

Grace Christian took their victory against North Raleigh Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 15-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Crusaders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
