Basketball Game Preview: Istrouma Indians vs. E.D. White Cardinals

The Istrouma Indians will head out to take on the E.D. White Cardinals at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Istrouma is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They really took it to Willow for the full four quarters, racking up a 74-32 win. The Indians have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 matches by 23 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Eryn Brown, who dropped a double-double with 36 points and 17 boards. The game was her 26th in a row with at least 20 points. Kay'Lee Shepherd was another key player, dropping a double-double with 22 points and 12 rebounds.

Meanwhile, E.D. White waltzed into their contest last Friday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They took down the Gators 56-39.

Istrouma has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.1 points over those games. E.D. White's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 24-4.

Istrouma might still be hurting after the 52-28 defeat they got from E.D. White when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Can Istrouma avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
