Baseball Recap: Vermilion Catholic Takes a Loss

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last six times Vermilion Catholic and Ascension Episcopal have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Thursday. Vermilion Catholic fell just short of Ascension Episcopal by a score of 5-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Ascension Episcopal this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-1 last Thursday.

Vermilion Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Ascension Episcopal, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 19-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Vermilion Catholic beat Ascension Episcopal by a score of 6-5 on Friday.
