Volleyball Game Preview: McCutcheon Mavericks vs. North Putnam Cougars

McCutcheon has gone a perfect 3-0 against North Putnam recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Mavericks will venture away from home to square off against the Cougars at 7:30 p.m.

McCutcheon came up short against Carmel on Monday, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Mavericks in their meetings with the Greyhounds: they've now lost four in a row.

While McCutcheon had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 21 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-23, 25-22.

Meanwhile, North Putnam waltzed into their match on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Braves with a sharp 3-0 win.

One reason for the win was North Putnam's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-12, 25-6.

McCutcheon's defeat dropped their record down to 13-8. As for North Putnam, their victory bumped their record up to 15-9.

McCutcheon took their win against North Putnam in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mavericks since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
