Basketball Recap: 12 Straight Road Victories for Fellowship Academy

Fellowship Academy waltzed into their game on Tuesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They walked away with a 56-44 win over the Abilene Christian Panthers. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 369th, while the Panthers are ranked 903rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Fellowship Academy to victory were Libby Hamblin and Rhyia Ray. Hamblin dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten boards, while Ray dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten assists. Hamblin has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 13 times she's played. Raelynn Brown was another key player, putting up four points and three steals.

Fellowship Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 24 consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Fellowship Academy pushed their record up to 19-2 with the victory, which was their 12th straight on the road. As for Abilene Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-8.
