Basketball Game Preview: Sanger Indians vs. Aubrey Chaparrals

Sanger and Aubrey are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Sanger Indians will welcome the Aubrey Chaparrals at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Sanger will be looking to extend their current 12-game winning streak.

On Friday, Sanger earned a 43-34 victory over Van Alstyne. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 222nd, while the Panthers are ranked 627th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Aubrey beat Gainesville 32-21 on Friday.

Sanger has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.3 points per game. As for Aubrey, their win bumped their record up to 4-11.

Sanger came out on top in a nail-biter against Aubrey in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, sneaking past 32-30. Does Sanger have another victory up their sleeve, or will Aubrey turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
