Softball Recap: Owosso Trojans vs. Holly Bronchos

Owosso had lost eight games straight , but after bumping their record up to 10-12 on Monday that streak is in the rearview. They were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Holly Bronchos. That's more bragging rights for the Trojans, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Hailie Caswell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ady Freeman was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Ava Poag also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

As for Holly, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

On Holly's side, Molly Charboneau (SVSU) was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Megan McMullen, who earned one run and two stolen bases.
