Softball Recap: Geneva Vikings vs. Glenbard North Panthers
Geneva had lost six straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 7-17 to make it seven. They lost 15-5 to the Glenbard North Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 20-4 two weeks ago.
Clara Lyons made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Megan O'Connor was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
As for Glenbard North, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.
On Glenbard North's side, the team relied heavily on Aubry Miller, who fired off three home runs and seven RBI while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave Miller a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lauren Kozlovsky, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Coming up, Geneva will take on Aurora Central Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Chargers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Vikings' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Glenbard North, they will challenge Lake Park at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
