Preview: Jemison Panthers vs. Beauregard Hornets
After two games on the road, Jemison is heading back home. They will take on The Beauregard Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Friday, Jemison suffered a tough 42-18 loss at the hands of Selma.
Despite the defeat, Jemison had strong showings from Chaz Melton, who rushed for 117 yards and a touchdown, and Kintre Jackson, who picked up 68 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Beauregard had to suffer through a rough 49-7 loss at the hands of Central of Clay County. Beauregard was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-7.
Jemison's loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 1-7. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 12.3 points per game. As for Beauregard, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.
Jemison was taken down by Beauregard 54-14 in their previous meeting back in October of 2022. Will Jemison have more luck at home instead of on the road?
