Chilton has gone a perfect 10-0 against Roncalli recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Tigers will welcome the Jets at 4:30 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.
Chilton is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Kiel just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Friday. They came up short against the Raiders, falling 11-2. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Tigers, who until this match were averaging four runs allowed.
Chilton saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lucas Groesschel, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, Roncalli suffered their closest defeat since May 23, 2024 on Saturday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (4-2), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. Like the Tigers, the Jets also had to let a streak go: they had won four straight, but that streak is no more.
Ryan Cole was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
Roncalli's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Chilton, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 10-3.
Roncalli's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Chilton hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .329. It's a different story for Roncalli, though, as they've only averaged .229. Will they be able to contain Chilton's hitters?
Chilton skirted past Roncalli 6-4 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Jets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
