Recap: Howland Tigers vs. Newton Falls Tigers
The Howland Tigers won the last time they faced the Newton Falls Tigers, and things went their way on Friday too. Howland came out on top against Newton Falls by a score of 51-38.
It was another big night for Alex Henry, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The game was his third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Anthony Chieffo, who scored eight points.
Despite the loss, Newton Falls still got an impressive performance from Cameron Huff, who scored nine points. Jabriel Rufai was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with eight rebounds.
The victory got Howland back to even at 4-4. As for Newton Falls, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.
Howland will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Hudson at 7:30 p.m. on December 28, 2023. Hudson will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Newton Falls will finish 2023 at home by hosting Lakeview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Lakeview focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Wednesday.
