Football Game Preview: Somerset Academy Panthers vs. Central Rockets + Official Tickets

The Somerset Academy Panthers will head out on the road to challenge the Central Rockets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

It was a proper cat-fight when Somerset Academy challenged Somerset Academy - Canyons on Monday. The Panthers took a 28-14 bruising from the Cougars. The matchup was a 14-14 toss-up at halftime, but the Panthers couldn't quite close it out.

Meanwhile, Central entered their tilt with Southridge on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 34-28 W against the Spartans. Given the Rockets' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Spartans are ranked 31st) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Central's defense and their four sacks. Southridge's QB won't forget Jakhi Barber anytime soon given he sacked him twice. Central got some further help from Louisden Paul: he made 12 total tackles (2.0 for loss) and defended two passes.

Somerset Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Central, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.
