Preview: St. Joseph Catholic vs. Union

On Friday Union take on St. Joseph Catholic at 7:00 PM. The team will be hoping to continue their now three-game streak of scoring more points each match than the last.

It was a close one, but last week Union sidestepped Newton County for a 41-38 victory. No one put up better numbers for Union than junior Colby Ferguson, who brought his A game into the match. He picked up 164 yards on the ground and threw 3 TDs.

Meanwhile, there's no need to mince words: St. Joseph Catholic lost to Jackson Prep, and they lost bad. The score wound up at 10-59. St. Joseph Catholic were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 3-38.

Union's win lifted them to 3-2 while St. Joseph Catholic's defeat dropped them down to 3-2. If Union want to win, Union will need to focus on stopping St. Joseph Catholic's junior Andrew Sanli, who passed for 118 yards and 1 touchdown, and junior Joe Pearson, who caught passes for 66 yards and 1 touchdown. We'll see whether or not they are up to the challenge.
