Basketball Game Preview: North Murray Mountaineers vs. Rockmart Yellowjackets

The North Murray Mountaineers will head out on the road to face off against the Rockmart Yellowjackets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in North Murray's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matchups.

North Murray is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Southeast Whitfield County: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that North Murray blew Southeast Whitfield County out of the water with a 70-24 final score. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 37-7.

Meanwhile, Rockmart came up short against Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe on Saturday and fell 69-57. While losing is never fun, the Yellowjackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 442nd, while the Warriors are ranked 218th).

Rockmart's loss dropped their record down to 4-17. As for North Murray, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 11-9 record this season.

North Murray beat Rockmart 66-56 in their previous meeting on Wednesday. The rematch might be a little tougher for North Murray since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
