Volleyball Recap: Vernon Hills Comes Up Short

Vernon Hills lost against Niles West two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Cougars fell just short of the Wolves by a score of 2-1. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Vernon Hills started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 12-25, 25-15, 25-21.

Vernon Hills' record is now 8-27. As for Niles West, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-11 record this season.

Vernon Hills will welcome Loyola Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Niles West does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
